AIPS conducted a Guest Lecture by Dr. J. Sarat Chandra, MD, Paediatrics on the topic “Paediatric Vaccinations, Dose Calculations, Common Medications, Medication Errors, and Management of Common Paediatric Infections” for 1st Pharm D and 2nd Pharm D students.

The speaker elaborated on the National Immunization Schedule, paediatric dose calculation methods including Clark’s, Young’s, and BSA-based formulas, commonly prescribed drugs in paediatrics, sources and prevention of medication errors, and evidence-based management of prevalent paediatric infections such as ARI, diarrhoea, UTI, and meningitis.

The lecture provided valuable clinical insights and emphasized the role of Pharm D students in ensuring safe and effective paediatric pharmacotherapy.
